We are a small family breeder of exceptional Pointing Labs and Golden Retrievers. Our dogs are not only excellent bird dogs; they are also a part of our family. All of our breeding dogs are used to guide upland preserve hunts. They have also been trained and hunted in the fields of Iowa and South Dakota on native birds with unbelievable results. All of our dogs have a strong drive and a strong natural pointing instinct as well as being excellent retrievers.
Not only are our dogs excellent in the field, they are also loyal companions at home. They have a great on/off switch; when they leave the house they are full of energy and drive, but when they walk through the door they are happy to curl up for a nap. All of our dogs are well socialized and make wonderful family pets. Whether you are looking for a companion in the field or a loyal friend at home, we have a dog for you!
Our Puppies
All of the Tent Church Retriever puppies receive Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) training from days 3-16 after birth. This training has been developed to increase confidence in puppies and create more well rounded pets that have less anxiety, better social skills, and more curiosity. On top of these temperamental benefits, there are also multiple health benefits, such as improved heart health. You can learn more about ENS here. We have found that this training has produced high quality hunters and confident pets.
